Representatives of Avellana Gold participated in the
large-scale Epiroc World Expo 2026, which took place from June 1 to June 4,
2026, in Örebro, Sweden. The event served as the leading global platform for
discussing and showcasing solutions to the key challenges of the modern mining
industry.
The Avellana Gold delegation explored the latest
developments in automation, digitalisation, and environmentally sustainable
technologies. The programme featured solutions for autonomous drilling and
remote operation of equipment, which minimise the need for human presence in
hazardous underground areas; next-generation underground machinery that reduces
CO₂ emissions and improves underground air quality; as well as intelligent data
analytics systems that help optimise mining operations.
Event participants had the opportunity to join discussions with leading global industry experts. Speakers included Wayne Symes, President of Epiroc’s Underground Division, who presented a vision for transforming underground operations through automation and electrification; Martin Hjerpe, President of Epiroc’s Tools Division, who shared approaches to increasing the productivity, efficiency, and reliability of mining processes; and media expert and futurist Nicklas Hermansson, with a speech titled "Human 2.0 – Superpowers of the Future," dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work.

Important components of the programme also included presentations by representatives of leading international mining companies, such as Codelco, Boliden, Pucobre, and Eldorado Gold.
"Modern mining is no longer about brute force; it
is about high technology and responsibility toward society. For Avellana Gold,
the safety of our employees and minimal environmental impact are absolute
priorities. Exploring innovations at the Epiroc World Expo 2026 gives us a
clear understanding of how to modernise our processes in Ukraine in accordance
with the best global standards, even under the current challenging circumstances,"
summarised representatives of Avellana Gold.
Direct dialogue with leading Epiroc engineers and international partners will allow for the development of a number of new solutions for integrating innovative equipment into Avellana Gold’s operational processes.
