Avellana Gold opens its representative office in Ukraine Avellana Gold opens its representative office in Ukraine
Avellana Gold has opened its Ukrainian representative office in Kyiv. The office will be managed by Andriy Smolin. Avellana Gold plans to create a large-scale gold and polymetal ore mining business in Zakarpattia giving employment to several hundred workers. Total budget of the project makes up almost 100 million dollars. The company is currently exploring a polymetal deposit in the village of Muzhiievo. It is also seeking solutions for environmental issues. “Over the past 20 years mining in Ukraine has been almost completely closed for investors – no single project has been completed,” Andriy Smolin, rep for Avellana Gold in Ukraine says. “Success of Avellana Gold’s project is beneficial for Ukraine as it is a significant contribution of private capital into manufacturing and region development.” “Opening of a representative office in Ukraine indicates that the country offers opportunities for long-term investment projects with attraction of foreign assets,” Andriy Smolin added. Avellana Gold is researching a new strategy for exploration of polymetal deposit with the use of modern technologies and an environmentally friendly gold extraction flotation technique. The company is primarily concerned with elimination of the destructive consequences of previous management on the territory of Muzhiivske deposit. In this connection soil remediation measures have been launched. *Photo: Avellana Gold CEO Brian Savage with the Head of Avellana Gold Ukrainian office Andriy Smolin
